FUTUREMATH Ltd
The world is complex. Events unfold in unpredictable ways. Humans behave irrationally. Rare events can have a dramatic impact. And our actions often produce the opposite of what is intended.
So why do we still use analysis methods that assume that the world never changes, the atypical is unimportant, and that the future can be anticipated?
FUTUREMATH is about moving beyond the hangovers of the past, where people honestly believed that everything could be understood and predicted. Understanding that the world isn’t predictable is one of the great breakthroughs of the 20th Century.
We can now make models that include human behavior and unpredictability, and understand how to treat uncertainty. FUTUREMATH uses a combination of innovation and internationally emerging methods to make the volatile and the unpredictable more manageable.
We have breadth of experience in modeling, including the HAKA agent-based combat model, the ALFRED agent-based rugby model, and the Fractal Electricity Model.
Our current projects include the development of the ABSNEC agent-based combat model, heavily based on HAKA, and specifically designed to address Network Enabled Capability analysis problems.
